Two great mountains

A gallery featuring images of two of the greatest mountains in the world. Mt Cook (Aoraki) situated on the South Island of New Zealand and Snowdon in Wales.

Aoraki / Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand, reaching a height of 3,754 metres (12,316 ft). It lies in the Southern Alps, the mountain range which runs the length of the South Island. A popular tourist destination, it is also a favourite challenge for mountain climbers.

Snowdon - Yr Wyddfa - is the highest, grandest, and most popular peak in Wales and is situated in the Snowdonia National Park. Its summit attracts over 500,000 visitors each year. You might like to ponder on the fact that when they stand on the summit, 3560 feet in the air, this piece of land was on the seabed of a vast ocean over 400 million years ago.

Enjoy!
