Most of my work is printed in black an white format for two reasons:
First of all, I find it a challenge to create suitable images that can tonally work well in black and white. Secondly, I want you to appreciate the actual scene or object as you 'see' it but then to use your mind to 'imagine' it in full colour, using the 'clues' of texture and tone in the image.
You will also see that all my images are square which I feel enhances them, especially when viewed in an enlarged size, framed, and hanging on a wall. This shape also makes me think that little bit harder when I am composing an image so that I have to ensure it will 'work' as a square image, rather than in the more conventional landscape or portrait formats.
